2019 CAREGiver of the Year - Barbara E-B

“She is the CAREGiver everyone wishes to have,” explains Nick Konstant, owner of the Home Instead Senior Care office serving Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
“When I have a client, I always put myself in their place,” describes Barbara. “Patience is number one for me followed in random order by genuine care, respect, adaptability, reliability, trustworthy, honesty and love.”
That inspiring, selfless spirit is not lost on the many clients Barbara has cared for since she was hired with Home Instead in 2006! Barbara worked with one of her first clients for 7 years. In her words “When I first met Regina she reminded me so much of my beloved Granny that I knew we would have a special and rewarding relationship. After 3 years working at home with Regina she transitioned to a nursing facility. The family askeed me to continue working with her to be an advocate when they could not be there. She lived to be 100 1/2 years young and it was a privilege to be part of her life.”
When asked what she enjoyed most about being a Home Instead CAREGiver Barbara replied, “The diversity of clients and knowing that I can truly make a difference in their lives. Each has their own, unique life experiences that I am fortunate to share. Just to be a help to these seniors is a blessing.”
